Just a Moment Before Rushing Out to Storytime

I came out of my bathroom dressed and ready to go, and I found the kids lying on the piano bench like this. I told them to hold that thought while I grabbed the camera, and then I snapped this.


Bird grew weary of my snapping off photos, and she sat up. Then Buster got the idea to tickle her toes.

Back and Forth

I fired up the laptop beside the computer today during J's nap/H's quiet time. Bird wanted to check her email. She logged herself in, and wanted to write to me. As she worked on it, I wrote to her. Here's what it said:

I am writing you this message while you type on the laptop beside me. I think it's cute how you are working so hard to send me a nice message. I love how cute you are during your naptime/ quiet time. You are nice to stay quiet while Jackie sleeps. Do you enjoy having that quiet time during the afternoon? I think it is nice to be in the calm, quiet house every day at this time.

I had a great time with you and your friends this morning. Mama had a playdate with my buddies too because I like your friends' Mamas! Stephanie and Kathy are fun to talk with. What do you like about your friends? I enjoy sharing my thoughts with my friends and listening to what they are thinking as well.

Tonight is Shabbat Shalom. I always enjoy that time, too. I wonder what yummy thing Grandma is making for us. She is nice to make us good food every week, huh? We should remember to thank her tonight.
